A Corolla wild horse on the Outer Banks of North Carolina at Carova Beach.
The wild horses Corolla have survived nearly 500 years of fierce Nor’easters and hurricanes. They require very little fresh water and have adapted to available food sources; mainly marsh grass.
They are truly representative of the Outer Banks spirit – untamed and rugged.

Pretty! Seems they are not scared off by humans, or were you further away with a zoom? Great shot regardless.
ReplyDeleteYou are not supposed to approach within 50 feet of them, but this one came up to me. Guess it didn't know the law!! The photo was taken in 2004 with my very first digital camera.....not much of a zoom in those days!!!
